November
More than fifty members and visitors attended the November meeting yesterday. They heard Mr David Clarke talking about the gardens of Shropshire and Cheshire (the brief strayed into Staffordshire and Worcestershire as well) and included Tatton Park Garden Show. The talk was well-illustrated with slides, and Mr Clarke had some very attractive cards to display and sell. He was thanked by Anthea Humm, and, after tea, he judged the competition. This month the subject was "a floral arrangement in a teacup". The winning entry was Jean Wright's (pictures below).

Next month sees the Christmas Lunch on Wednesday 2 December with some musical entertainment to follow.
At the monthly meeting a week later on the 9th, the speaker (singer) will be Martyn Harrison highlighting "Royal Celebrations at the Proms". The competition on that occasion will be for "a Crown" - an opportunity for delusions of grandeur to come to the fore.
