Competition time!!

Each month I type a post about the meeting and often wonder who, if anyone actually visits this blog and if anyone actually reads what I'm posting or if I'm typing this purely for my own amusement!

I'm posting this question and if you know the answer or want to have a guess at it, send me an e-mail with you answer as the subject line of the e-mail.

The question is- Which celebrity was in the photograph with me for the competition entry this week?

I will reveal the winner at next months members day meeting on March 14th where I shall present the winner with a prize of a piece of my handmade jewellery.

E-mail entries only please to be sent to jennifersteadman@talktalk.net by monday 12th March please.

Wednesday 8th February 2012

Today's meeting was surprisingly busy seeing as there is still so much snow and ice around.
The speaker today was Eve Regelous who spoke about her company 'Show stoppers' and a 'Year in the life of a celebrity'.
Eve and her husband Peter are celebrity booking agents and have worked with many of the well known artists we see on our televisions.
Eve and Peter started their business in 1991 and it has just grown and grown since. Artists such as Peter Andre, Chris De Burgh, Celebrity chefs James Martin, Simon Rimmer and Jamie Oliver, Denise Van Outen, Tamzin Outhwaite and Mr Blobby who was their very first client!!!
Apart from the celebrity's they also book novelty acts and artists such as jugglers, giant floor pianos, stilt walkers, mime acts, minature horses and performing dogs.
Each artist is booked with their own riders list of demands such as a certain type of coffee, sweets and biscuits etc to be made available to the artist and their party. Some riders lists were quite reasonable while others for 37 white towels per room and
Their client list is pretty impressive too with names such as the BBC, ITV, Harrods, Toymaster, IBM, Hewlett Packard, High end London Hotels, Masonic lodges, golf clubs and several shopping centres.
The talk was funny and it was really interesting finding out the various demands (A riders list) of our favourite celebrity's came as quite a shock. The photograph is of Eve standing one of her advertising stands.

The competition for the 'picture of your favourite celebrity' was won by myself with my photo of Michael Bolton and me. Thank you for my prize, I will indeed spend it wisely.

Next meeting- March 14th and it is members day.

Dont forget it is the Table top sale this Saturday 11th February. 10am til 12midday. FREE Entry.
